Need new gloves, what do you recommend?

I used 14oz Everlast gloves but want something better. Any suggesstions?

I got some gel gloves to wear under them, so I need a 16 oz this time around.

Title Gel for bagwork, Cletos or ringside "Mexican Style" training gloves for sparring.

Title gel for bagwork? Is that the brand name?

      What about top contender?

EDIT: Did a search. These come high recommended. Very good reviews so far. I just need to find a good price.

        + eleventy billion.

        Title Gel Bag Gloves FTW.

Cleto Reyes are, in the parlance of today's youth, "Da Shizznit." I haven't used them but I can tell you, from being on the receiving end, they deliver the goods. It is extremely unpleasant to get hit by them. 16 oz. el cheapo Everlasts feel like you're in a pillowfight compared to 16 oz. Reyes gloves.

Right now I use Ringside IMF Tech for sparring, which are also excellent: low-profile, stiff, reasonably priced, but my hands are too big for them, I think; my thumbs ache after a few rounds of sparring and a few times I've found one or both hands numb along the median nerve (thumb & two fingers) when I take them off. My next sparring gloves will be Reyes.

I need gloves that have good padding for heavy bag work. Are these any good?

I've been pretty happy with these.

i dont see the point in getting the mexican sparring gloves since your sparring people against your own gym, so why would you want to hurt someone you train with.

I often spar with heavyweights. It's not a matter of hurting them; it's a matter of making them want to take fewer chances.

you aren't going to hurt anyone more with 16 oz mexican style gloves v. 16 oz grant type gloves. More of a difference with 10 or 8oz.

I prefer the feel of cletos over grants. with Grants I feel more like i am wearing shoeboxes on my hands......
