    Amateur Weight Question

So last night I was going to fight but the guy had 10 pounds on me. I weight 117 and the guy was at 127, I chose not to fight since I had bad experience in my first 2 fights fighting someone 15 pounds over me. Was that a good decison not fighting and waiting till today to fight someone exactly my weight?

i dono, was it? thats not a question u can ask on these boards. it was either a good decision, or a bad one, u make the choice. we cant tell u if its good or bad, ur the one fighting dude. if u win tonight, i guess it was a good decision, if u dont, i guess u'll never know, will ya?

either way good luck tonight and let us know how it goes...

In that case it was a good decision not to fight him, thats quite a lot of weight to give away and you was saying you had fights with guys 15 pounds heavier than you, ****.

Definitely a good decision. Especially since you're relatively light. 10 lbs difference at bantamweight is a LOT more than 10 lbs difference at heavyweight!

Weight is an issue, but it is not the biggest issue in boxing. Floyd Mayweather said in a prefight interview that weight doesn't win fights. Styles make fights. What did you know about your opponent other than his weight? Does he have a style that would be difficult or easy for you? Do you have a style that is tough for opponents to solve? Are you easy to hit? What are your natural advantages? The only time that weight should become the biggest consideration is when you have poor boxing skills and you are trying to avoid getting the crap beat out of you!

No. Why do you think there is weight classes in boxing?!
People with more mass behind them hit harder, its called physics.
