    Pull Up Bars

Do any of you have a pull up bar for your home? I'm in an apartment so I need one that doesn't require screwing in mounting. I've seen some on amazon but i'm not sure which to go with. Anyone have one of these?

i had one at my old apartment and yea u cant screw them in the doorjam and the ones that dont screw in the doorjam ****ing blow. they use pressure to stay on and it works for about 1 week then they start to fall off. they suck dont waste ur money. if u cant screw one in, u gotta get that pullup / dipping station thing. i know its expenseive, but those pullup bars suck ass IMO.

      I have this:

It works great for me, I know a lot of people had trouble with it, but I guess it depends on the doorway that you use. My doorway fits it perfectly.

Did you have one that was just a bar or the one with the pieces that wrap around to the front? The one that wraps around looks like it got a lot of good reviews on amazon... well one of them anyway. Those seem to be designed to stay up without mounting whereas the bars all seem to come with mounting hardware.

        edit: this was to speedkillz

yea i had the one with just the bar but you put it in between the doorjam and pull like ur almost pulling it apart and it supposed to suction on the door cuz of the pressure and stay on, but it didnt. and i was 165 when i had it so it wasnt cuz of the heavy weight. they jus suck.

this one the dude posted seems like it would be pretty good...

I weigh about 210 lbs. and I've had it for three months now. I forgot to mention the only downside I've seen so far is that when I first used it there was a very narrow splitting of the wall by the doorway on both sides. I mean it was a small crack and I don't really care in my apartment but it might bother someone else. It hasn't widened since my first use.

I'm thinking i'll try the one below since it looks the same as the other but is a little cheaper. Thanks for the help guys.

I use my weight lifting bar to do pull ups, there's two long pieces of timber on the celling of my garage for storage, I can attach it to that it does the job fine.

Is it just me... or does that seem like hilarity waiting to ensue...
