bag gloves are much smaller and thinner, sparring gloves are huge theres no mistaking them. if hitting with sparring gloves on the bag works for you, do it. if using handweights works for you, do it. if you prefer 10 or 12 or 16 or 18 or 20 ****ing use them theres not really much to argue about.

sometimes i spar with 18 ounce gloves, mostly 16, but i mix it up between 14, 16, and 18. nothin wrong with that. it will make u keep ur hands up better in an AM fight and will help with hand speed and crispness.

      TO VERS:

the padding is different between sparring / training gloves and bag gloves? i never knew that and to tell the truth i dont feel a difference. the only thing i can tell is my fist feels a LITTLE different in the bag gloves, but nothing that can hinder my performance using them sparring, so who knows...
yes i spar with 10 oz gloves so does every on else i know. when ever i travel to other gyms to spar with them they use 10 oz gloves to.

we use 10 oz in compertion so why not use them in sparing. its your own fault if you get clocked with a big hit beacuse you hands had droped or whatever. it also prepares you to take a punch.

it ****** the first time i switched gyms last week because all they had for me to use was 20oz sparring gloves when they were all wearing 16's. i did pretty well and still found my handspeed was better than theirs cause i've been working on handspeed alone for years but later on my joints were sore as hell, especially my elbow.
