post-workout nutrition? new to boxing here..

    post-workout nutrition? new to boxing here..

    new to boxing as of 3 weeks ago. been goin pretty hard at it and i'd like to get some info on post workout nutrition after an intense session. lately this is what i've been eating but i'm not sure if it's ok.. (btw i'm trying to lower my BF but the trainer said that with all the training i'm doing, i could pretty much just eat whatever and the fat will come off with time)

    anyway here's my PWO

    2 cups whole wheat pasta
    1 grilled chicken breast
    2 tbsp olive oil
    1/2cup tomato pasta sauce

    then 2 hours later before bed i usually have

    2 rice cakes
    3 tbsp natural PB
    1 cup of fat free flavored yogurt

    Anyway, thanks for any advice you guys could offer!

    wake up, eat cereal around 12pm.


    ariound 3:30 i eat lunch(which today io ate some roman noodles)

    get home around 9pm, eat again



    i dont really follow a diet =P unless im getting ready for a fight its not that important to me.

      that is terrible advice for a trainer to give. u can eat alot more thats true, but u cant eat whatever whenever. u still gotta eat the right foods.

      ur post workout meal looks decent, except ditch the pasta sauce, u dont need that processed ****. if u want, get some natural salsa from the deli. also ditch the rice cakes, they processed. if i were u and ur tryin to lose weight, u wouldnt eat right before bed. optimally wait 2 hours before u go to sleep, or at least 1 so that u can digest some of the food before goin right to sleep. stick to natural foods and training hard and the weight will most cetainly come right off, but dont except to get a fighters physqiue by eatin burgers, and pizza and ice cream and ****. food is the most important thing begind roadwork and skills when it comes to boxing. welcome to the sweet science and good luck!

          Serious?? with all the calories i'm burning, some pasta sauce and rice cakes are gonna hurt my fat loss gains?

          any other input on this?

            you'll probably still burn off fat, but you won't make good progress as time goes on. If you eat crap, you'll feel like crap, it's that simple.

              what he said. of course ur gonna be burn fat still, cuz at the end of the day its calories in vs. calories out, but.... well, what this guy said...

                What my trainer said that helped me was, "Eat all the raw fruit and vegetables, and lean meat (chicken, fish, turkey) that you want."

                On top of that, I cut out sugar, cut WAY back on pasta, potatoes, and bread, and started eating my meals in halves whenever I could -- eat half, eat the other half an hour or so later. I dropped 35 lbs. in about 6 months, from 205 to 170. I also ran every morning and either boxed or lifted weights every day, and I mean EVERY day.

                After a workout I have a protein shake -- whey protein, oats, berries, and apple juice -- plus 5g of Glutamine, and a few other supplements: CLA, Vanadyl Sulfate, and a multivitamin with an additional vitamin C kicker.

                    Thats great dedication. The blueprint for success. I know what i need to do but i fall short sometimes. So really how much has your body, performance and even mental state changed? B/c that sounds like a complete 180, if you dropped 35 lbs that fast. Im guessing you were out of shape before. Also you really train hard 7 days a week without anytime off?
