Old School Techniques may be better for Stamina.

Bigger Lungs can help you in Boxing, by increasing your lung size stamina problems can go away.

Try taking a straw and sucking as much air as possible in your lungs and holding it for thirty seconds, make sure your chest is tight and pumped. A half dozen times a day for a few months should expand your lungs and rib cage and chest. You will indeed increase your stamina. Breathing exercises are a lost old school dinosaur technique from the days of fighting twice a month.

There might be something in this, these lung/respiratory exercises have become quite popular all of a sudden at some gyms. Check for the products i've seen.
Im not sure if there worth the money.

your technique is quite effective. my aquatic training is very similar. I have my boyz swim the length of a 25 yard pool (underwater) and if they even think of popping thier heads out before they reach the other end....they get sprayed with paint ball pellets.

So once you take in as much air, do you release "short" spurts? I just find that to be the key to holding your breath the maximum amount, when in the gas chamber.

Short spurts yes. That sounds cool the pool thing.
