I did it today. I had a dime sized whole in it And all the padding in the front where I throw my jab and my left hook at was all deflated. And all the foam was everywhere. My trainer said when you hit the bag really hard consistently,it can do that.He said big punchers have those problems. We suggested that I move onto 20oz gloves on the bag cause he said ppl that punch really hard gotta up there oz sizes in gloves cause of the compact you make on the gloves can cause it to **** up. But these pair of gloves took me 5 months to break. My other 16oz took a year. So have any of you guys had that happen?

It happens..like everyday. I'm such a big puncher myself. Lately though, instead of my gloves popping (because i started encasing my hands in concrete) its usually the heavy bag.
Last week i hit the bastard so hard it actually broke the chain and flew through the wall into this abandonned warehouse. It was funny though, because the bag burst into the room and hit a number of people, either killing or putting them in a coma. But it was cool, because it was a paeodiophile and drug smuggling cartel which i single handledly smashed with one punch.
My suggestion to you is, quit boxing. If your anything like me, you'll get pissed off with the amount of money you have to spend on buying new equipment and on the lawyers for the bereved families of your sparring partners.
Just my two cents.

i had a pair of gloves rip once same thing ur describin, the leather jus started cracking at first and then it ripped into a hole and the padding started getting out. i duct taped mine and it held up for a while but then i jus got a new pair. if u hit a big bag hard, over time the gloves are bound to rip.
