I'm open to all advice. I'm rematching this guy in my next fight. My plan is basically to start with the jab more as I come in, and jab out after each combo, and move my head a bit more. This is my new plan. Watch this fight and tell me your ideas.

Which one are you, the white kid I assume? Both of you look very impressive if you only have 9 fights. Very impressive.
If you're the white kid, I'd say wait a while before you rematch him. It's very rarely a good idea to jump right in there with a guy you just lost to in your last fight. Learn some stuff, get to another level of skills before you try again, or else you'll most likely lose again.
In this particular case, he's quite simply a little too skilled. You can't fight him at a distance, because he's faster than you, and has a better eye, which means that he can counter you when you open, but you can't counter him when he opens. So you try to get inside and rough him up, but he's faster and gets off first in there as well, and then he ties you up. Sometimes it's even you who has to tie up, becaues you can't control him, and you try to slow him down by holding. Problem is, you don't get your punches off.
I honestly don't see you getting a win over this kid in the near future. Sorry...Comment

Damn I don't know.....I will admit I only watched the first and last round but he is a sneaky lil ****er and fast too.He might just have the style to beat you more often than not unless you can figure out a way to be more effective on the inside......you're certainly not going to beat him in the middle of the ring just boxing.I agree with what the first reply said....unless you think you can hurt him and can adjust quickly you should'nt fight him again right away.Comment

Amature fights are about punch volume, nothing more. It doesnt matter if they are hard punches, you just have to touch him. A constant output of pittypats will beat just about anyone in the amatures.Comment

Not true. Go see some international tournaments. The judging has definitely changed compared to the last few years. There's much more an emphasis on power punching right now. Light punches just doesn't score anymore.Originally posted by shawn_ View PostComment

They're supposed to follow the same scoring guidelines in all amateur boxing, but of course there are differences in interpretation. In short, it differs from place to place, and even event to event.Originally posted by Chief Vash View Post
