    importance of protein

    Hey peeps.

Just a heads up, since i started killing it in the gym doing alot of boxing i cut my protein intake to slim up. I used to take like 200 grams a day and was pretty built (235). I got down to like 215 and was ripped but my muscles were not full if you know what i mean. I was down to like 100-130 grams of protein. I have since upped my intake to close to 200 again and man what a difference. This is simply advice only. Protein is essential to maintaining muscle and for growth and recovery. If you feel flat up your protein. Its as easy as one 50 Gram shake a day supplemented into a normal diet for most.

It all depends on your size. You should get as many grams as your body weight at max for boxing, to avoid getting too much muscle.

I am 145 lbs for example, and I probably get 100 grams a day.

Yeah I didn't get enough for my last fight in my opinion and it was part of why I lost.

Protein is very important but the body can only digest so much at one time. Try to have protein with every meal including morning and afternoon snacks. This ensures you always have protein in your body repairing your lean musscle mass. Nuts are quick, easy, and a great source of protein.

            Cheers
