    South Paw with right hook

Hey guys as I said I'ma South Paw and just started to learn last night how to throw my right hook, I know I just need to practice, but is it natural to feel like you have no power behind it?? I just feel so awkward, someone told me to practice slamming a door shut in that motion. What do you think?

don't think of it as swinging your arm and hitting someone.
the only movement your arm should do is get into position, the rest should be handled by your feet, your hips, and your shoulders twisting & torquing your whole body into it as your weight gets transfered to your back foot- front foot pivoting like putting out a cigarette.

That helps out alot. Thank you. I can picture it in my head. I guess its just about putting it all together in a fluid movement.
