thumb pain when using certain gloves?

whenever i hit the heavybag with most ringside gloves, i get this sharp pain on both my thumbs, maybe the gloves are too tight? whenever i use the everlast 10oz pro fight gloves, im perfectly fine.

i drew a picture of where the pain is (it's marked in red)

gloves that DO cause thumb pain (both hands, with and without handsraps):

    ringside international training gloves 16oz
    ringside pro fight gloves 10oz
    ringside Select training gloves 16oz
ringside imf tech training gloves 16oz
    title training gloves 16oz

gloves that DO NOT cause me thumb pain at all:

    everlast pro fight gloves 10oz
    everlast amateur competition gloves 10oz
    title platinum training gloves 16oz

by the way, all the gloves that DO cause me thumbpain, are pretty tight on my hands.

looks like those ringside gloves are better for people with smaller hands?
    i'm 5'8 180lbs
can anyone compare and contrast? also, list gloves that you think have more space inside them?

    thanks.

one guess, the gloves may make you close your hand unnaturally.

i don't know a helluva lot about boxing gloves as i use mma style gloves to spar.

you should be able to figure it out, no?

yeah, im just saying which gloves allow my hands to close naturally, and what doesn't. but i also wanna know how this applies to other people, too.

ok sorry, didn't read the bottom part of your post. my fault.

btw, check into the everlast 12 oz gloves. they definitely have more room, but i feel they're still fairly sheap from good ones i've seen.

you talking about the everlast 12oz gloves found in retail sports stores?

i was thinking of getting a pair of everlast 16oz training gloves, i hope they have the same "inner glove" space as the pro fight gloves, or more.

Everlast gloves all kill my knuckles. Ringside does not. Only Ringside bag gloves kill my hands. Use what doesn't hurt you. But, the pain area you have could be due to the way you wrap.

I get this kind of pain too. I've noticed it sometimes when I wrap. Is it because I wrap too tightly or because I need a different way to wrap?

HELL YEAH, I get that when I use my Everlast bag gloves. It hurts on the palm part under the thumb. There has been a couple times in the gym where it gets so bad that I have to take them off and switch gloves.

what's your height/weight, and general idea of your hand size?

what pairs of gloves are fine on your hands?
