Randall Tex Cobb should be among them. (SEE, fight vs. Holmes at the Astrodome 24 years ago, this month--Nov. 26).

When speaking of heart one must remember Ray Mancini. He would boom here, boom there and boom just about anywhere but he never stopped coming forward. I remember watching him against Livingstone Bramble where Bramble chopped Mancinis face to ribbons and muddled his eyes to a blurring purple pulp. When I was about 10 years old for a birthday present I was given a multi year subscription to sports illustrated. On the cover of the very first issue that I recieved was a low crouched man, getting under and shooting his right for the ribs.

While I completely respect Cobb for having heart I still wonder if he knew that he was actually supposed to get out of the way of some of those punches. Gottagree though, the guy would not quit.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! When his trainer told him to block punches, he must have thought he was supposed to do that with his face.

Yeah, Rockin', the guy was all heart in the ring, and nothing else.

ray mercer back in the day should be mentioned. probably one of the most stubborn fringe contenders of all time. the bastard wouldn't stop pestering. sad to see that **** degrade later on in his career.
