This is an excellent news, this time around Toney will win on points for sure, no judge will give Peter a decision to avoid controversy. So, unless Peter knocks Toney out (ya, right), Toney will fight Maskaev next. After he wins the title, I hope we will finally see the unification fight with Wlad (assuming he will not lose to Brock). Hell, we could see unification by next summer.

i don't really like this decision to have toney fight yet again for a shot at a belt. one thing i didn't like about this decision was the amount of time it took to get this decision. it didn't happen immediately after the fight, which raises some questions in my mind - like why now?



completely disagree. while i would agree that toney is an exceptional boxer, i can't see how having an overweight, trash talking racist ******* could be good for the sport. he's not an exciting fighter outside of impressive counterpunching skills and almost literally cries about losing any decision. he was lucky to get a draw with rahman - really lucky.

Toney's one of the biggest draws in the division, and one of the few Heavyweights with some actual skills.

lol, he clearly beat Peter, which is why this is happening. The WBC watched the tape and obviouisly saw how embarassing it made them look.

Bottom line is that they went wrong allowing Maskaev a BS defense in December and that's what's tying up the WBC title for 6 months.

Peter would have taken a fight in this time anyways, and it's great that it's a Toney rematch, because an overwhelming majority of fans and media thought Toney won the fight.

It's not about his steroids or not beating the top 10 HW. He's getting the title shots because the man is brilliant at what he does, any "hater" or "nuthagger" will admit that. It's fun to watch a 230 pound little fat guy taking "the biggest puncher in HW division" to school.

I see Toney losing again in Feb/March and retiring ...these boys just want a hero. He can't hurt any of the HWs and thats why he keeps losing. I kinda hope he loses against Peter, but I could care less who wins that fight, just so his farewell fight will be against Klitschko (for 1.5 Mil). He would be destroyed.
