Comments Thread For: Truax: Plant Beating Guys Like Mike Lee, Feigenbutz No Help When You Face Real Fighters

Caleb Truax isn't impressed with Caleb Plant's resume since he beat Jose Uzcategui to win the IBF super middleweight title two years ago. In his two title defenses, Plant has stopped unbeaten-but-overmatched Mike Lee by third-round technical knockout and Vincent Feigenbutz by 10th-round TKO.

He ain't lying. It's easy to look great against overmatched opponents, but with his lack of power, he definitely ain't gonna look great against top guys. Uzcategui had him running around almost the whole fight and was getting to him
from the midpoint on. He can move all he wants, but guys like Canelo and Benavidez both eventually catch up to him and run him over. No way he can do what he does for 12 rounds if he can't(and most likely won't) hurt them.

Real talk, another reason why these guys just facing easy opponents after easy opponents won’t help them when trhey finally get the ticket and dar a canelo type payment fight. They should all face each other and figure out whose who and who really deserves the shot at the crown

Honestly I don't think Truax is too far ahead of those guys. He's honestly still living off of upsetting Degale, but you can't put too much stock in that because Degale was already kind of shot at that point, and has always been a bit of a brainlet inside the ring. Other than that, Truax is an ordinary fighter with an ordinary skillset and an ordinary record to match. Plant's got a degree of career momentum right now and seems like he's got his head screwed on. I don't expect him to take the fight lightly. I'm sure he'll have no trouble with Truax.

Wasn’t Uzcategui his 17th fight? Not bad beating a rugged world champion with a hard punch so early in his career.

Truax is right. However he isn't one and Plant is with the PBC where they usually cherry pick around the real fighter and spend alot of time lying about the fighters they ducking to get ppl to think they were up for it.

Traux is in over his head. He’s from gme era of weak SMW the time period when groves was like the top 3 SMW.

Not discrediting that win at all. But besides the scorecards, he looked good early in the fight, but reallyfaded from the midpoint on. Canelo and Benavidez are way better fighters than Uzi. Just on't see him being able to keep them off of him for 12 rounds.
