    Unpopular opinion: Garcia is a hypejob

    I dont see it with this kid.

    The team is there (Goldenboy, Reynosos), the promotion is there, the conditioning is there... it seems he does not have 'it' although they are selling this guy as 'it'.

    Technically I think he is flawed. Stands way too upright.... Too much tension, (look at james toney/duran those guys are relaxed in the ring)... Too stationary when throwing punches... Not good footwork as mentioned. This is a knockout waiting to happen. Campbell is **** but still clipped him.

    The whole division is **** if this guy comes on top. This is not a 21yr old mayweather. He'll get knocked out against a proper boxer although they will squeeze every dollar out of him before that happens.

    He could be great, but he's not yet.

    They're selling him as a complete boxer long before he's ready - so yes, he's currently a hype job.

      I’ve got him on the same level as Haney, not sold on either tbh.

      It’s actually a good fight to make next, two different styles.

        He's talented and isn't a hype job, but he loses to the elite.

          He has been fighting at the prospect level and this was his first step up against a top 10 opponent.

          He passed the test with flying colors I would say.

            Part of why boxing is losing to MMA is the fans.

            There is a perception that fights are not important because people are too obsessed with focusing on the next fight.

              ... of course, the kid has speed, power and he's big at 135... but poor defense...

              ... there are hard times for the sport right now, and I can't see how his handlers will be able to "protect" him in the years to come...

                Same here, I'd pick Teo and Tank over those two. Those guys are actually proven and battle tested, Teo more so.

                  100%.

                  Both are talented but I think they’ve got another 12 months of learning before ready for a Lomachenko or a Lopez and even Tank who I think is a bit too seasoned at this point.

                  The future is looking good though.
