NOTES:
-Picking the correct winner earns 20 pts
-Picking the correct method earns 10 pts
-Picking the correct detail is worth 10 pts
-Draws are worth 150 pts. A perfect pick without a multiplier is 40pts.

-CLOSE is 6 or fewer pts difference, 115 - 113 on all three scorecards or closer. CLEAR is 7 - 18 pts difference, between 115 - 113 and 117 - 111 on all three scorecards. WIDE is anything over 18 points or over 117 - 111 average on three scorecards

-If you'd like to change your pick before the fight starts, post in this thread to do so. Ideally tag me so that I don't miss it.

-2X doubles your points and 3X triples your points. Everyone starts with 10 doubles and 6 triples to use throughout the year. If you forget how many you have left, check the leaderboard in the master thread. Every player also has 3 x5 special multipliers which can be only be used on an underdog (+100 or greater) fighter.

[PICK EM CREW]

Okay gentlemen, an early welcome to the 2021 Pick Em with an unmissable interim title fight between rising star Ryan Garcia and veteran Olympic Gold Medalist and perennial contender Luke Campbell... doesn't really need much selling this one, and the bookies clearly favouring the young star despite his lack of top flight experience.

Second billing is WBA World Champion Rene Alvarado defending against former foe Gutierrez. Despite the one sided ouitcome of their first match there may be some hope that Gutierrez will show up better this time around, having matured in the last 3 years and coming off 5 straight wins including 4 by KO of which one was his best win to date by a margin over Eduardo Hernandez.


Pick Em aficionados will probably have noticed that I slipped in a few changes on the down low, which will be more fully explained in the 2021 Masterthread when that goes up in a few days... biggest single change and the one to be most aware of is the significant change to DECISION picks... We've now changed to having 3 types of DECISION picks up from the former 2.

Previously we were using CLOSE (<12 points) and WIDE (12+ points) but for the 2021 season we will be using CLOSE (<7 points), CLEAR (7 -18 points) and WIDE (19+ points) for DECISION picks.

Multipliers have also been changed slightly, for 2021 we will now have 3 x5 multipliers which can only be used on the bookies underdog, but have no temporal limits on use (when the x5 was introduced in 2020 the idea was for players never to have more than 1 x5 available at any given time, but the system kinda got messed up by COVID). Each player will also start with 10 x2 multipliers and 6 x3 multipliers which can be used on any fight as in 2020.
