    Mr. Gary Allen Russell Jr. has unofficaily been billed as "Mr. Once A Year" for the better half of the last decade. The 32-year-old WBC featherweight champion has fought only one time every year since 2015. It's definitely not by design, if you ask the DC fighter.

          I remember him saying a while back he did it to preserve his body. I can't take GRJ seriously anymore

            It's quite impressive really. Gary has fought once per year each of the last 6 years. Crazy to think it's been 6 1/2 years since Loma schooled him. Time flies. He never really tried to make much of his career after that.

              Yeah I agree. He blames everyone but himself....blames promoters, blames managers, blames networks, it’s everyone else’s fault but his own. Like Crawford this seems to be another person who has bought into extreme entitlement, that he DESERVES to have a big fight without making a case for himself through a string of high profile wins. I can only imagine how much money he demands for these proposed big fights too....it’s just getting old with him. He’s going to waste his career off of entitlement.

                GRJ real goal is to be a comedian I heard. Boxing just supports that goal. GRJ mismanaged his career but not that badly. He's taken basically zero punishment.
