I’m sure DAZN and GBP worked something out. They will build Ryan Garcia, Munguía and Vergil Ortiz. Ryan is getting close to 8million followers and has a huge YouTube affiliation. DAZN might want to invest in that long run. Ryan is a star in the making.

At PBC, rank from the following of the fights you would most want to see:

      -Mall Charlo
      -Mell Charlo
      -Benavidez
      -Plant
      -Spence
      -Derevyanchenko
No I totally get what you're saying and I agree! Canelo should avoid getting into any long term deal with anybody and it should be fight to fight

canelo is going to be forced to fight now. no more Golden boy and Dazn protection. the difference between floyd and canelo is that floyd's contract was contingent upon him fighting the best fighters in and around his weight class.

Canelo wasn't willing to do that so his contract got cancelled!

DAZN is starting their Global Launch in December. They need Canelo’s introduction for this premier debut in 200 markets

Canelo will probably fight a Matchroom fighter, maybe Smith or BJS. The reason why Plant is being thrown out there by Team Canelo is to see which network will fork up a guarantee + PPV. DAZN will have to match that.

Canelo wins again. If ESPN are truly desperate to push their boxing they might offer Canelo a super deal, limited, but just as good as the first Canelo contract. It will be DAZN vs ESPN bid

Nah, he may end up fighting again on DAZN one day, but it won't be in December. This was Canelo getting out of his deal with GBP and getting away from DAZN. Canelo is still very upset at how DAZN treated him and how they were turning down good potential opponents.

GBP and DAZN are working out a deal so not much should change.

They do need to focus on Garcia and Ortiz Jr as the future of the brand. Only thing with Garcia is that he is obviously close with Canelo and his attorney is the same one as Canelo's I believe. He may try to break out of his deal soon enough. But if I'm DAZN and GBP, I make sure I keep this guy happy and give him what he wants.

DAZN couldn’t force Hearn to lose another Champion. We saw that Hearn failed with his Matchroom opponents in Fielding, Jacobs, and co-promo Kovalev. He was 0-3 against GBP. So he begged DAZN mgmt that BJS or Smith shouldn’t happen or else the Matchroom USA portfolio would continue to drop. Instead Eddie persuaded DAZN mgmt that he would save Smith and BJS for the DAZN UK launch forward. It’s all politics. DAZN liked Eddie’s plan so they refused to give GBP the premium 30% cut by design, knowing that Canelo wouldn’t accept it.

I guess it depends on who he wants to fight most. If PBC refuses to do business outside of the reservation, he won't get Charlo, Plant or Spence. If he signs with SHO it may be harder to get fights with Top Rank or other fighters.

Hearn could have been pulling the strings, sure. But the point is Canelo isn't fighting on DAZN in December. Look at the statement made by a DAZN official to Rafael.

I think he'll get ***y enough offers that it'll be hard to walk away from a TV deal. Plus I believe there is a mutually beneficial relationship to be had for Canelo & a network to have fans know where Canelo will be fighting into the future. I suspect Showtime is a heavy favorite, -400ish, -500ish maybe, to land Canelo.

I don't think he should sign a promotional contract. He should either setup an infrastructure to promote his own fights or freelance out the work fight by fight.

I've been saying that for fooking years & I hope Canelo pulls the trigger on his promoting his own fights or doing a fight by fight deal after this situation.

Agree. Ryan has already been more trouble to GBP than maybe anyone with his accomplishments thus far. Just wait til he wins a belt. He's gonna be too much to deal with for GBP. I tend to doubt Ryan is with GBP in 2 years. Maybe 3 max.
