Comments Thread For: Spence To Spar Monday For First Time Since Suffering Injuries In Car Accident

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut Errol Spence Jr. will spar Monday for the first time since suffering injuries in a car accident 11 months ago. Derrick James, Spence's trainer, informed krikya360.com that Spence is scheduled to spar Monday at James' gym in Dallas. Coincidentally, Spence's first sparring session since his October 10 accident will take place on the one-year anniversary of his 12-round, split-decision victory over Shawn Porter in their welterweight title unification fight last September 28 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

I may do the same. For some reason something just feels off about this fight. I hope Spence is the same

This would the most pivotal moment of Erroll Spence's recovery and comeback. This is a good way to gauge just how much or if any lasting damage was caused to his body by the car accident.

Derrick James is about to make another PPV paycheck. Fox PBC is relying on this fight to continue, so realistically, there won’t be any type of heavy sparring. Ideally to prepare for guys like DSG you need to spar hard hitters and counter punchers.

Let’s be honest, this is Haymon’s farewell gift to Spence. Had it not been for Covid, Spence would be fighting a RedKach, but because the networks are so hard to convince with sports nowadays let alone boxing, this is the best Haymon can do for Spence, and many Truth Fans neeed to be prepared to accept that this could be Errol’s final fight.

I honestly believe DSG is going to throw with mean intentions.

                WHAT!!!???!!!

I just checked he still 7 weeks out. I wonder if he would pull out if he doesn't look right in sparring? You gotta give Spence uber credit for doing this & if he beats DSG.

Whoa! Spence is either too prideful for his own good or just crazy. Possibly both?

I am hoping the wreck didn't do any permanent damage and somehow I feel like he can be the fighter he was
