Comments Thread For: Ellerbe: Canelo Would Never Fight Jermall; Charlo Is Best Middleweight In The World

One of the sport's power players is proclaiming that Jermall Charlo is the preeminent middleweight on the planet. "Jermall Charlo is the best middleweight in the world right now," Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe told krikya360.com in an interview. "There are few other guys at 160, namely Canelo, who will have something to say about that. Jermall is on a mission to prove something to the world. Jermall's style is all wrong for Canelo. They would never put him in there with Charlo. I don't think Canelo goes anywhere near Jermall. He's an animal."

Yea of course he is, he's beaten the best out there... I personally don't know one worthy opponent this Charlo guy has fought but I would never go against the word of a honorable man like Ellerbe.

Andrade is the best middleweight in the world. & Canelo rather fight Charlo & offered him the fight but Charlo said the numbers weren't good enough.

Canelo has this strong sense of entitlement where he will say “his style isn’t good for me so I refuse to fight him” and then his man fans will say “well who has that person fought?” Or “he doesn’t draw enough fans” something or other yet say nothing when he fights the likes of a Fielding or a Khan or Liam Smith etc etc. I’ve never seen a champ of this magnitude who feels so entitled to avoid fighters who have the beat chances to beat him.....and fans who are just so driven by nationalism who roll with that and make excuses for him

Yet Fielding, Liam Smith, and Khan would all make Top 5 for Charlo and none are Top 10 for Canelo

            Yall are too easy

He don't feel the same about Andrade they way he do Jermall. Although giving up his WBC belt to franchise himself is weird AF.

I do like that word nationalism tho, it's been slipping my mind how to categorize them. Thank you for that.

Remind me again who the hell Charlo has beaten at MW? Nobody paper thin resume. Canelo has beaten Jacobs and GGG. Charlo is fighting their leftovers. Funny how you failed to mention those names.
