theres the type...there in the boots ennis post from the other day...the article that says hes entering "WW title contention"...not "p4p status" or anything like that....hes 23 with a thin resume....i get it...but the article wasnt lauding him as the next superstar in boxing or anything....and theres a bunch of people hating and pointing to him not beating anyone of note or special....

i think everyone is aware he hasnt beaten anyone noteworthy or special yet......

if i take the current top 20 p4p id say 85 percent of them hadnt fought, let alone beaten, anyone worth a lick at 23...

i could take it a step further and go talk about gervonta davis

i get it...tank davis has been thrown in your face...hes headlining cards...hes selling out shows in multiple cities...hes doing main support to a floyd ppv that does over 2 million buys

hes 25 and is about to do his first ppv(as a headliner)..against a guy generally regarded as a top 20 p4p guy...and basically tanks resume has already been trashed...and the same people are already shooting down LSC as an opponent ahead of time in order to discredit this fight

yet you cant find many in the top 20 p4p who were headlining their own ppv at tanks age or even fighting a guy as good as LSC at that time in their careers...tank has plenty of time to start building a resume starting right now....yet some of you are pissed off he didnt fight lomachenko 2 years ago!!!! wild!!! unreal!!!

there is a 23 year old guy who has been calling chenko out for a lil bit now....and a guy who wants to fight him....his name is....well we all know his name

what does the same group of people do? you want a certain group of fighters to take fights early and take risks...but when a fighter does this, and goes against one of your idols/heros, you get all upset and flustered and go on the attack and claim that guy has 0 chance of winning

That Boots Ennis has not fought a top 10 opponent is not his fault; but until he does, it's hard to know how he's going to respond when he gets into trouble against a stiff challenge. He passes the eye test but mentally how tough is he? I think that uncertainty is the source of some of the skepticism.

Lomachenko said that he wasn't interested in fighting Lopez until the latter had a belt. So Lopez got himself the IBF title and now he's lined up to fight one of the best in the sport. No complaints there.

Tank's age is irrelevant so long as he's promoted as this champion of unmatchable talent. He's a belt holder so implicitly he's open season for all legit challengers. But instead he's fighting LSC coming up to 130, a way past-prime Gamboa before that. If he continues his diet of cherry-picked opponents then he deserves all the flack thrown at him.

the background BS of the sport rears its head almost every day...i have just accepted it exists...its exists everywhere..in every company...and even with fighters some swear are "different" and in it for more than just money.....i just accept it

you missed the whole point...then again..maybe you didnt miss it...you just dont like the point...because its the truth

the point is...guys like tank and ennis get bashed on here because people want them taking bigger challenges earlier....then a kid like teo does...now if teo was going after tank theyd be praising him and he would be a saint....but he goes after loma and they bash him daily...then he holds out for a few more bucks, which he easily got and didnt kill the fight, and they call him a diva and a clown on a daily basis.......for doing exactly what they want/demand out of a guy like tank

im sure you understood that right? my point about tank isnt that hes doing ppvs and making tons of money.....my point is his career, as far as resume, basically falls in line with every other top 20 p4p fighter currently...only hes slightly ahead as far as building a profile.....
