That might be his best move if things don’t work out.

First off he still has a contract with DAZN those are the facts but lets look at it from clenelo's perspective IF he gets out of it he would have just gotten out of an exclusive deal where he was having all sorts of problems with a network why would he lock himself into working with only one network again? I think he will become a true network free agent and only do one fight deals.

Id at least think two or three fight deals though. Why spend all that money on advertising and promotion if you could lose him in the next fight? I don’t think long term makes much sense in boxing where anything can happen. But two to three fight deals at least can help get rematches done, or avenge a loss even. To renegotiate with every provider interested after each fight would really show things down in an already slowww sport like boxing.

Based on what Iole wrote, the lawsuit against ODLH and GB allows he and his attorneys to speak directly with DAZN (which would have been prohibited without).
The inference is that he wants to communicate and possibly deal with DAZN directly and is looking to sever ties with Oscar and Golden Boy.

In the last week reports are that DAZN are speaking with Canelo’s legal directly. DAZN now knows the full circumstances. If DAZN was truly impervious without collusion with GBP, then the empathy makes even more sense.
Let’s see what DAZN offers Canelo.
As others have said and I since the beginning, Canelo’s been getting his pay before Covid happened: Fielding (non premier) - $17mil, Jacobs and Kovalev; $35mil.
Showtime would have to guarantee Canelo a minimum of what plus PPV upside? That’s risky for Canelo. If Canelo doesn’t make what he was making at DAZN it will seem awkward.
DAZN has been to best engine tech to promote fighters.
Industry has been too lazy to give circumstance about Covid. Ironically, Covid somewhat brought out the beast from within the contracts

With how things are shaping out in the future, he has a big enough names to remain independent (if he gets out of the deal). Get some people around him he could trust. Focus on streaming networks to continue his brand out.
