Who would've thought that "franchise" Canelo is so interested in fighting such a "big name" as this "Turkish asylum seeker".

Btw, I admire his audacity to request for this fight when Smith and BJS are other preferable options.

Haven’t you been understanding the news?

Industry just leaked that Canelo asked for GBP to seek out alternative broadcasters, reported by Boxing Scene weeks prior. Why do you think GBP tried to attempt to expand DAZN “non premier” list by adding Yildirim? It means Yildirim would be cheaper for GBP should the last measure in settling for DAZN’s $17mil. They could give Yildirim a career high in $1.5 and the opposing pockets the rest.

It would be even more complicated depending on if Haymon would advice Yildirim to not take that and go to purse bid.

It’s not that Canelo “wanted” Yildirim. Rick Glaser affirmed this.

No, what’s forgotten is that Yildirim was never even presented as an option to DAZN. The only guys being considered seriously by GB were Saunders and Smith.

It was considered an alternative option for Canelo Alvarez since the lawsuit showed the incompetence from GbP to create alternatives such as a different broadcaster. DAZN wasn’t interested. I take it the WBC were trying to help Alvarez since they knew about the turmoil for the Canelo dates, not that Canelo initially requested it, and the WBC would be aware of breach of contract between GBP and DAZN. The WBC were actually clever doing that, but it didn’t work.

he petitioned for this fight to be made for that belt. He didn't realize that Dazn wouldn't pay for that trash.

The WBC are merely doing their formality. Canelo can’t fight without DAZN’s approval. GBP needs to provide Canelo exclusively on DAZN. Canelo is suing because his legal claims he isn’t exclusive and perhaps was told by GbP that alternative broadcasters was an option.

Canelo doesn’t do that. GBP’s role was to find alternatives and seeked guidance by the WBC. GBP felt that if the WBC mandated such a request that DAZN would honor an organization’s protocols. They didn’t take the bait. Before Yildirim other non premier opponents were not even approved such as Ryder, Lemieux, Johnson, Quigley. None of those guys have belts. GBP gambled that fighting for a 168 belt DAZN would approve the bait.

Canelo is a bossman! Sue all their asses!

Lame that Haymon can pull these tricks. He knows Canelo isn’t doing a purse bid. DAZN won’t do the fight and he’s not fighting on PBC or anywhere until this legal mess is sorted out.
He know Canelo will drop the title so he can match his two guys and held another title hostage for PBC bums.
