You bring such a good point!
Obviously, in a vacuum, the talent level is not the same but unlike Plant, Smith gets no real push to become that AMERICAN Champion.
I'm surprised no promoter has made a real effort to tap into Smith genuine blue collar roots, it would be such an appeal to a certain class of americans unlike Plant who while born and bred in the South, has a certain swag that might rub certain americans the wrong way.

    Anyways, props to Joe Smith!
Would this guy ever allow himself to sleep in silk sheets...

He's so overlooked by Americans I actually thought he was English!

        That is correct

That's what I'm understanding the situation to be. When it'll actually happen who knows?

Cassius Clay Collard, Joe Smith and Caleb Plant are the examples that America has some Bad-Ass white boys that can Fight. Boxing needs more corn-fed American White boys in this Sport. Leave MMA and join Boxing!

Before Saturday I called him Bazooka Joe cuz he had that right hand rocket launcher and crazy long reach but now he’s Rambo Joe cuz he’s now has a lot of tools to seek and destroy instead of just one!

Smith Jr has become even more dangerous especially if he can improve even more off of this performance, he may even have a better chance to beat Beterbiev than Bivol does!

Joe Smith is not flying under anyones radar he has one of the biggest punches at 175 and he actually showed improvement in his fight against Alvarez because to me his boxing was never anything special just a tough guy who brought the fight and put pressure but his jab was improved and he didn't go looking for the power shot. He has gotten exposure though and fought on big networks so I don't know what people are talking about he fought Bivol, Hopkins, Fonfara, Hart, and Barrera all televised just he lost to Bivol and Barrera pretty soundly and people wrote him off tends to happen.

I admit I thought he was going to lose against Alvarez thought he was too slow but he showed some tricks and he can change up during the fight. He also is probably the only person to hurt Bivol multiple times during a fight so he has a punchers chance against anybody I don't think he beats Bivol or Beterbiev in a boxing match but if he sparked them out it wouldn't be surprising. He is being groomed for the title and Arum already said he wants to match him up with Beterbiev but it looks like Artur has 2 fights in line so I wonder who he could face in the mean time would like to see him fight Radivoje Kalajdzic or Callum Johnson, Pascal would be a good match up too but he's obligated to face Badou Jack I think and not sure if he's locked in with PBC but that would be a very good matchup stylistically.
