Can we have a serious talk about women's boxing

I mean look, it's not good is it..

I mean the "skill" level of Persoon was so low. There was one point when Katie Taylor head was literally on her chest, like she was in full motorboat position, and Persoon was launching straight punches at the thin air, two feet behind Taylors head.

And as for Taylor, well you talk about feather fists. I mean you couldn't find an easier target than Persoons chin, it was bolt upright and only moved in straight lines all night, her chin was like akin to a heavy bag swinging, slowly, backwards and forwards. But Taylor couldn't put a dent in her.

I'm sorry but women's boxing is VERY poor, and all this putting it on as chief support on PPV or even just major cards is not on, that fight tonight should have been the first one on the card, because skill wise that was their level!

Very few women boxers in the world. So obviously there will be very few skilled ones.

... throughout humankind evolution, men were selected for hunting, hard labor, war, etc... this simply because men just can't "give birth"...

Yeah but the highest skilled ones are garbage and cant even punch
Persoon if im not mistaken was a 4 year wbc champion hahaha

They need to scrap womens boxing theyre garbage the gloves are too big for them

They go back and forwards in straight lines with hardly any head movement and take prolonged beatings from feather fists

It has a ways to go, yes, it's in it's infancy, relatively speaking and the relatively small numbers of female fighters will generally mean the skill level is lower... the way to remedy that is to support the female sport so more women get involved. What is no different to the men's sport - as beautifully exemplified by both Taylor vs Persoon fights - is the courage and will to win displayed by the fighters in the ring, and that is a huge part of what most of us enjoy watching. The Gatti vs Ward fights were hardly the sweet science at it's finest, man.

Another thought you might want to consider is that from a pragmatic point of view we could all benefit from having women onside with the sport, ain't just extra bums in seats and more money but it's also that it's the women more likely to be objecting to their sons going out and getting hit in the face or calling for bans on the sport way I look at it. What do you reckon might be a good way of getting more women onside with the sport? Myself I can't think of many better ways than encouraging greater female participation.

They are taking up high profile spots on cards which superior talent male fighters deserve.

It's like watching two kids having a scrap in the playground.
