Comments Thread For: Katie Taylor: I Wanted Persoon Rematch Straight Away After First Fight

Katie Taylor spent most of 2020 preparing for what many claimed would have been the biggest fight in the history of women's boxing. That hard work instead gets invested in a rematch to what was easily the toughest fight of her career.

Lmao shut up, no you didn’t. I won’t even give you credit if you win. All the hype about you was destroyed in the Persoon fight.

Taylor is all class! Honest as they get. Any true fan of boxing would appreciate her attitude along with skill. Being said that...
Now kick this whinning Belgium back accross the pond and do it so it leaves no doubt! UP IRISH!!

        ... about one year ago:

"After arriving back at Dublin Airport, Brian Peters told reporters that Persoon would get a rematch but not immediately."

"I’m very happy to give her a rematch whenever she wants it really," said Taylor. "I don’t think it’s gonna happen in the next fight, but the rematch is gonna be inevitable."

In a recent interview with Eddie Hearn, Delfine Person brought up the fact that the time-keeper had made a 'mistake' , denying Persoon the invaluable seconds that likely would of changed history, and surely cost Persoon the WBC lightweight title and honor of becoming 'undisputed'.

In the first image that I submit, you can see the time-keeper had already started the clock at least ten seconds before the referee had called for action.

Considering the gift that another Matchroom prospect received ( Josh Kelly ) on the undercard, I find this slip-up to be too much to believe as a random error : by reason of the fact that the officials, networks, audience, and NY commission must of been on high alert from the aforementioned controversial decision , for a blunder of this magnitude to occur.

My immediate reaction was that Taylor lost a close fight but a rematch should clear that up.

                  lol

Well Eddie is an F-Level promoter who was having a colossal sized US debut bomb, who already had to play dirty with the Kelly fight and had another prized prospect who was about to be stopped.

Surely he had he had to do something.

Funny how even with this he became a joke by the end of the event anyway.

Hearn was banished that day to where he belongs, to Matchroom Fight Camp, where only the lowest, the failed british boxers(basically all of them) reside.
