Have you ever heard a former champ of the past say today's champions would beat me? I never have. The older ex champs always say their era was so much better than today. Tyson might have defeated today's champs when he was in his prime. Jones is too small to beat Fury or AJ on his best day.

Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: Me & Mike Tyson, In Our Primes, Would Probably Beat Fury, Joshua

They would both beat AJ but I don't see either especially Tyson beating Fury unless he did so inside the first four and with a prime Mike is always a possibility.
I think Fury has big trouble early with both & their speed & in particular Roys lateral movement and angles.
Fury could well get dropped a few times with shots he didn't see in particular vs Roy but he'd get stronger down the stretch as he always does and they would fade from getting roughed up and leaned all over. I don't care if RJJ really is Superman he's going to get dog tired from having a 270lb Fury maneuvering him, leaning all over him & pushing him about.
I suspect Roy despite carrying the extra weight could do better down the stretch than Mike. Mike has 4 rounds at best to get Fury out of there otherwise he'll fade as always and get broken mentally. Roy may have 7 good rounds in him just because I think unlike Tyson he'd do a better job of negating Fury's size but he'd only really be prolonging the inevitable.

I can't speak for Roy Jones, Jr but all I know is from 1985-1988 Mike Tyson was indestructible. I've never seen a Heavyweight fighter quite like him before.
I thought that he would go down in history as the best heavyweight champion ever. No one from this current era of heavyweights could have defeated that Mike Tyson.
Even Muhammad Ali whispered to George Foreman that not even himself could have defeated that Mike Tyson in his prime.

roy jones beating fury and joshua LMAO now thats funny
as for tyson v the current crop, who knows its fantasy stuff, when u give up a lot of size that auto puts u in trouble if your opponent can fight too, its been shown over and over again but when it comes to your fav fighters of the past we tend to forget

Fury got the job done vs Wilder, but after afew rounds? It was as if they where both fighting under water.
Mike Tyson never had a bad engine, this is a complete myth. Even the Holyfield fight was a higher intensity than all of Fury's fights at elite level.
I actually think Joshua has a slightly better engine than Fury.

I could agree that they were very good technically but Fury is as well and is huge. No way they could beat him. AJ on the other side would be destroyed by Tyson and possibly beaten on points by RJJ.
