BJS verbally agreed to fight Canelo and was never given a contract. Canelo tried to replace him a week after they verbally agreed and every week until BJS gave up being in the running for the fight because he wouldn’t have enough time to prepare.

It's a catch 22 situation with Canelo which ultimately always looks in his favour..

He's on mega money whoever he fights so GBP low balls and see who takes the bait which is why many complain he ends up with the average fighter.. I see why GBP do it. They have to look after there own cash cow..

On the flip side, the guys wanting the mantel need to decide if they want to step into the lion's den and earn the mega money and call the shots..

With so many belts on offer and money available to Mickey mouse titles or none title fights, it's easy to see why fighters stay mid to top level of the tree because they can have a decent clean record and earn serious coin at the same time..

Negotiations between all parties need to find a middle ground and get him decent fights, because this Canelo legacy some talk about will only stretch as far as Canelo fans in years to come.. people would be talking of what he could have become rather than what he did become.. now Canelo is the one to write his own legacy...
