Hope the fight contributes to bringing excitement back to the storied Featherweight division. It is sad looking at its sorry state. What with Marquez, probably that division's best technician, wearing only a temporary ("Interim") crown while Harrison rehabs and John stays home.
I am hoping that The Ghost wins the title and goes up against JMM, Lopez/Chi, Humberto Soto and even Jorge Solis. And if Scott Harrison comes back from the country club, he should be in there too.
I am not discounting an Aiken win. One cannot, knowing about that durability matched by heavy hands that are responsible for five first round KOs, two second round KOs, two 3rd round KOs and 3 4th round stoppages; the very same pair that TKOd a Tim Austin in the 6th last April. On top of those, I know too that Aiken has had fights at Super Feather, Lightweight and even Jr. Welter.
It's just that I'm a Guerero fan; one who is eager to see how The Ghost shall be able to deal with possibly his toughest date yet. If he's able to deal with Aiken in good fashion, then, I'll feel a little better about the division.
Note: I'm not mentioning Chris John as a future fight for Guerrero because I don't think he can be persuaded to use his passport and I cannot get myself all agog over a fight in Indonesia.
