Now, with the ecclectic ethnic mix that occupies the pound for pound list, I think there will be many faces that share the limelight.

Current pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr has the inside track on claiming the throne with his incomparible skills and unblemishd record. His ****iness and Olympic credentials also don't hurt. However, he isn't fighting competitive fights and has frequent runins with the law that hurt his image. He can become a major star if he cleans up his image, but don't expect that anytime soon.

Manny Pacquiao has single handedly created a Filipino/American following in boxing that is rapidly becoming a major field. He is already a major star in the Philipines, so he has some appeal there as well. Amir Khan is another possible cross over star. The 2004 Olympian from England is a wondrous talent and has the charisma to appeal to the masses. Jermain Taylor is also a guy who has quickly become a major player in the sport with his recent fortunes. Its all about personalities, and thats what sells.
Next to DLH & Mosley (who both should retire soon) i'd say Wright has a big name & a strong following, I'm suprised you didn't mention him AS.

            To be honest?

Right now, there can be no argument. The face of boxing is either Sergio Mora or Alfonso Gomez, at least in terms of being household name. DLH was, for sure, but he's a bit older, and he still does killer PPV levels but he's not the 'face' per say anymore.

            Floyd? Nope.

In the UK, i would say Hatton or Amir Khan. Khan, i know he's just a prospect, but his hype is amazing.

I'll say, "TONEY!" as soon as I find a rock under which to hide.

Edit: I don't hate Toney; I like him. His personality, however, is bait for comments such as the above. And, I cannot resist the temptation.

Seriously. Ask someone who doesn't follow boxing who they know?

They'll say Ali, Tyson, Mora, or Gomez.

I mean, i'm im high school, and my girlfriends' friends all know both of them. They don't even watch the show. These are teenage girls here.
