Nothing but respect for Vazquez and it’s refreshing to hear Sulaiman doing something positive for the sport.

I watched the first fight at the Home Depot and it was probably my favorite fight of the series. It was short but sweet, the change of momentum in the brawl made the crowd go nuts.

Other fights were classics but they were suspenful and shocking at the first bout especially watching it live.

Vazquez gave everything to the sport and seems ok with how things turned out for him. But Vazquez is not an exception. The exception in boxing is the fighter who walks away with his health and financial security.
Face it. The human body was not meant to take the kind of punishment even a good defensive fighter takes. So most fighters hang on too long and take too many shots to the head and leave the sport with debilitating conditions and not too much to show for it.
It's great that the WBC is helping Vazquez but any pro fighter who has a certain amount of fights should qualify for health benefits and a pension, it's the least the sport can do for these guys.
