    The 3rd Round KD

People have called it a rabbit punch, and I honestly could see how it was either on the corner or almost on the back of his head (Fury has large hands so it kind of landed from his ear to the junction of his skull where it means the atlas vertebrae) either way I can totally see how that punch was impossible to recover from. That said I ask all of you boxing minds who really know the rules through and through ?not looking for emotional opinions here ?was that a legal punch? It almost looked like it was flirting with a rabbit punch, but if it was one I don’t fault Fury since it only landed there because Wilder turned his head (as he was slipping while ducking) at the very last second before it landed. In the case of an accidental rabbit punch what are the official rules?

Rabbit punch is an intention shot to the back of the head.

Fury threw a looping shot around the guard, it landed behind Wilder's ear. Happens all the time in boxing.

If a guy is doing it over and over, it might warrant a warning from the ref. But a single shot? No way.

It was a hell of a shot judging by how Wilder went down.

Funny that he never previously put Wilder down in 12 rounds.... or Wallin in 12 rounds.

If this new Kronk King Fury does it against in a 3rd fight then he should rule the division easily.

Who knows fundamentally wallin still miles better than wilder for sure.

And in your last statement there’s little doubt that he won’t do it to wilder again.. what can wilder change or improve next 5 months to handle that? By then his confidence would still be bleeding. He wasn’t confident last sat, why would he be confident after taking a serious beating?

No worse than the punch aj was hit with against Ruiz.

Exactly this, these punches are extremely common in boxing, but for some reason when they happen to Wilder it's different.

Even in the first fight with everyone being under the assumption that a 10 count is a 10 second count, and even then Fury beat the 10 secs.

Fight hype was asking every single black fighter after the fight, Spence, Hurd etc if it was a 'legit' knockdown, setting the question up in a way to get them to answer "no or maybe not" and they all said emphatically that it was a knockdown.

              - -Official boxing rules and officiating always subjective, but two points-

Fury punch was not a deliberate foul any more than a fighter getting his noggin pulled down that alters the trajectory to a lowblow.

Deyonce clearly ducked into the punch which ain't against the rules if a fighter don't know how to protect himself.

... this it seemed to be the case... but the action was very fast... nobody was to be blamed... don't forget that a hurt Wilder went down again, short after that, but the ref ruled it a slip, which it was not... My assessment is that Wilder was badly hurt by an uppercut, before the first KD...
