This is my first fan loss. Never backed a guy who didn't win his whole career. I thought I'd be more upset about it really but I'm not even a little. I'm excited to see Fury vs Joshua and I hope Wilder does evolve his game soon.



TF busted him from pillar to post. Fury learned punching, had the balls to do it, and is more than I gave him credit for. He was very impressive. I hope he continues an aggressive form; stay at Kronk champ..

I have a lot of respect for your boxing opinions, you really seem to know your history especially and I have a lot of respect that.

I have a few questions after the fight and if you don’t mind taking the time to let me know what your thoughts are, I’d really appreciate it:

1. Was something wrong with Wilder (too heavy, etc.) or is Fury just that good? Was Fury only a shadow of himself (like he claimed) in the first fight and we are only now seeing him firing on all cylinders?

2. How much credit should Javon “Sugar” Hill be getting for this? Fury seemed to be hitting much harder than I’ve ever seen him hit so I’m thinking Javon may have a lot of new clients soon...

3. How does this effect Deontay mentally going forward? (Or even physically, after taking a beating like that?) Do you see him being a different fighter or taking a different approach in future fights? Does this effect his future confidence or his physical ability at all in your opinion?

4. Was it right they stopped the fight / threw in the towel, or should Deontay have gotten a little more time to try to turn the tide?

5. What fights do you see happening for both these guys in the next year or two? Do you think they do the immediate rematch; and if so, how do you see that fight playing out?

Even as a Fury fan, that has said for years he is the best heavyweight and most-skilled fighter in years..... I have to admit I was nervous before and during the fight. Wilder has an amazing right hand and can detonate it at any time, so he always has a chance.

I had Fury by decision and I was probably just as shocked as the people who had Wilder by KO..... its whats amazing about boxing and sport in general, the theatre of the unexpected. I won't give you any grief cause I'm really not into kicking people while their down lol, whether its Wilder or his most ardent fans.

I'm really looking forward to Fury vs AJ and I think last night should remind people to be a bit more wary in their view of the heavyweight division, already seeing too many people saying AJ has no chance and will get knocked out like Wilder etc.

Wilder was totally dominated in every round, Fury just bullied him in there...... incredible performance and one of the best in history.

1A. I'm not big on excuses myself. If there was something, it was his own problem and he should have dealt with it. I'm not interested in excuses or reasons from Wilder.....they best be damn good to change my mind, damn good. Like his ass was drugged mid rounds and it was absolutely proven....something just beyond the pale ya know.

Outside of that, a ready one is always 'punchers age quickly' and **** like that, but, I don't care. He got in the ring, he should have come prepared, period.

I think Fury's just that good.

I do not buy the shadow nonsense though. The Fury that fought Wlad either gets KTFO or has a rough night against Wilder. This was a new form Fury took.

2A. I think it's a mix. You can't take Tyson's willingness out. That's what I was banking on actually. I did not believe Tyson would trade very long with Wilder. I figured he'd try his new tricks and when he got hit a few times he'd go back to boxing and safety. He didn't and I give Tyson all the credit for that. However, there is balance and structure differences in punching and boxing and Sugar taught Tyson those differences. It was amazing watching Fury go from boxer to puncher to boxer again as the situation needed. He didn't get hit too often or too hard and that's because he's a good boxer. He did hit often and hard because he became a good puncher too. I would not call him a puncher-boxer, he doesn't mix them, he blends them. He isn't half assing his punching or his boxing he's going from one fully to the other. It was great, both guys get credit, imo.

However, there is another trainer worth considering for this. Sugarhill wasn't the guy Manny said he passed all his knowledge to. Jonathan Banks is. I'd been saying Tyson should drop Ben for Banks way before Sugar got picked up.....now I kinda think Wilder needs to pick up Banks.

3A. I can't say but I can tell you what I want to see out of him. I do not want to see Wilder trying to become a boxer now. That's not his path and never will be. I would love to see his game evolve. More output, playing with line of sight more, and reacting better to getting hit would all greatly improve Wilder.

One thing Wilder never does he really needs to learn is phantoms. Not Ali style, Marciano style, where from the outside it looks obvious but on the inside it's impossible to watch both hands.

Mentally of course I don't want him to question if power should be his central focus. Of course it should. He needs more tricks to deliver the power with. They need to study and adopt Marciano's ways more or this is the end for Wilder.

If he doesn't figure out new ways to deliver the power he'll crumble under his own doubt. If he does he has nothing to worry about. Fury didn't walk through the power. No one has walked through the power.

I've been there, not on such a level, but in my youth I was a power puncher, probably no surprise I like them then. Plenty of times I'd sparred or fought a kid who moved too good, I just couldn't land. I never felt like my power failed me, my delivery did. I think Wilder would feel the same. If he can learn how to hit Tyson he'll believe in his power.

4A. I think it was fair, I wouldn't have, but, I'd let Wilder kill himself in there if Wilder said he wanted to. Bayless and Breland did their jobs.

5A. I am an optimistic matchmaker. I like to believe the big fights are just around the corner so I'm disappointed all the damn time

I think Wilder will go straight for the rematch. I don't think ****ing around knocking out guys like Whyte or Ruiz will do much for him....I don't think Fury beating him drops him down that much. Not many people are going to go against Wilder if he's fighting anyone ranked 4 or under on any board. He wants to end his career soonish and wants to be on top before he does it. If he still wants undisputed he needs to get right to it.

Fury, provided Wilder either doesn't want a rematch or loses again, will look to go undisputed before he's gone too. I think soon as he's free it's time for Joshua.



I think Fury-Josh is easier to make than Wilder Josh because the UK has never had all the belts on two fighters both from the UK fighting for undisputed in the UK. It's massive and historical.

Two things I want to point out, given it's my thread I'll just shove them here.

1. Tyson Fury was retired when Wilder called him out. Wilder should get some credit for delivering, pushing, and forcing this form of Fury into existence. Not more than Fury himself of course, but some.

2. UK best to slow their roll. Europe in general needs to be cool about their time on top in the HW division. Because neither Wlad nor Fury were able to do it with European trainers. That's American boxing y'all Euros is praising, don't forget it, watch yer mouth.
