But your vantage point is uneducated, inexperienced and amateur. What's the most lucrative deal you've ever negotiated? How could you possibly understand the psychology and strategy that goes into negotiating multimillion deals?
lol, no actual rebuttal, additional facts or contribution at all, just ad hominems and an appeal to authority from some rando on the internet.
Really Dibella doing that helped Wilder out because he got to see a number from a rival competing for his services. That forced the people paying him now to step up and pay him more which they did. I'm sure it pissed them off so they fired Dibella.
that could be true in theory.....i mean....its not out of the realm of possibility thats why they fired him....i still think its more likely the did so because he was trying to use wilder as leverage
trust me...if haymon didnt still see the value in having to pay wilder after that offer he probably wouldnt....he could have easily had him take the offer....likewise if showtime and fox didnt see the value in paying him after that offer they would have passed.....they still believe in wilder and fox believes in having a piece of the fury ppv....they believe hell win and that theyll have a piece of the AJf fight too....
nobody is forced to pay wilder....you saw showtime pass on the ortiz fight because it was too much...but fox didnt.....people believe hes worth it.....if they didnt al could have easily taken the DAZN deal
the problem was the DAZN deal wasnt a good enough split...they knew that DAZN was hiding AJs figures from them for a reason.....and they know if they get that fight on their own their position is worth more than what DAZN offered
"It's the smart move. Dibella was always smarter."
Dibella is absolutely right that it's now an anti competitive environment that isn't best for the consumer. ****ing supermarkets can't get away with this, yet we follow a sport where we'll happily do it to guys getting punched in the head.
I don't know if Dibella would feel differently if he was in on the triopoly (well duopoly given TR and PBC are clearly trying to squeeze Matchroom). But regardless of that, he's right.
So we end up with a gangster led sport. The gangsters might look like legitimate businessmen nowadays, but they're still running a gangster operation.
No, I'm not a PBC shill. I have no ties to PBC whatsoever. What's funny is that my ties to Dibella are how I used to get so much inside info regarding PBC. With Lou out of the loop, I'm often out of the loop as well.
Wilder rejected the DAZN deal because it didn't make any sense to fight Breazeale on DAZN. It made more sense to go destroy Breazeale, see how Joshua looked in his next fight, and then negotiate for a Joshua fight.
JOSHUA ENDED UP LOSING. So even if Wilder had accepted DAZN's offer, he wouldn't have gotten to fight Joshua anyway.
So he would have severely pissed off Showtime, Fox and PBC by fighting Breazeale on DAZN, but still wouldn't have gotten the AJ fight.
This is how ****ing ****** the AJ trolls are. Wilder's decision was proven correct, yet you idiots still criticize him for making a decision that ended up being the right one.
wtf am i reading?
why would a prizefighter care about not pissing off a network? it's about making money..$20m for brezeale
the truth is wilder was pissed because he expected an exclusive deal with dazn, seperate from EH. they thought the pbc could get in with dazn and take over EH's turf...
Wilder literally talked about how he would be interested in dazn because he doesnt need to sign with EH to do it. he thought he could get those 9figure contracts and instead was only really offered the money for AJ (with brezeale chucked in).
When they didnt get that type of deal, they threw their nappies out the pram.
