Making side deals for himself.
Good to see at least one rational, objective person with common sense

He was also offered a standalone 2 way rematch fight with AJ for like $80 or something ridiculous.

I personally don't gaf what Wilder chose to do, or what Haymon convinced him to do. Some people aren't motivated by money, infact I mentioned in a thread before that Wilder strikes me as the kind of guy who would rather 50-50 of 100 mill, than 40-60 of 150 mill.

However what does bother me is that Wilder would be earning considerably less money, if it hadn't been for DiBella arranging the meeting. There is no way in hell Finkle would have orchestrated this, probably through fear of Haymon's retaliation to it. I also don't gaf what Lou's intentions were, the fallout was always going to result in Wilder getting paid and that's what any promoter and manager should be doing.

He was not offered a 2 way rematch with AJ for $80 mil. They wouldn't disclose what AJ was getting. Now Hearn is saying the fight is 50/50 so let's say they did offer Wilder $80 mil and AJ was getting $150 mil. That's not 50/50

And Wilder's increase in pay has come from PPV on Fox. That has nothing to do with a meeting with DAZN and DiBella. That's Wilder selling the fight and delivering.

Lou was acting above his pay grade here. Shelley & Al should be negotiating with DAZN not Lou. From my understanding Lou had no real promotional rights to Wilder. It was just a fight by fight agreement & thats why he was so easily fired.
          Close thread.

A great subtlety you raise here especially when it comes to Haymon's fighters.

funny how when you CORRECTLY claim that Haymon is actually a promoter, and that the "promoters" he uses are just puppets and glorified site coordinators, people rush to defend the practice, claiming that no, they arent puppets but are actually real promoters.

And then when the supposed "real" promoters set up meetings and do what "real" promoters do, those same people claim that he acted above his pay grade.

you cant make this stuff up........ lol

Basically Haymon and PBC can do no wrong in some people's eyes, there's an excuse and warped explanation for even the most eyebrow raising decisions.

Granted there are some dedicated "PBC haters" but I don't think they tie themselves up in knots the way the PBC shills do. This thread is comedy gold.

dibella served no role in a joshua/wilder fight beyond trying to get a finder's fee out of DAZN if the fight happened.
unlike you, there isn't a number that could entice me back into the boxing business. There isnt anything remotely appealing about it anymore.

Dont hate me because i'm not forced to do things just for money. You choose to be involved in a sport you admittedly dont enjoy, just for money, and on top of it you choose to spend a good portion of your time interacting with fans who clearly despise you, and who you clearly look down upon.

Doesnt seem like a very good use of your time, but hey whatever floats your boat......

I saw that WBC poster put Ike Ibuebuchi as his number 3 All Time Great heavyweight boxer so I really wouldn’t assume he knows much beyond spinning contract discussions .
