Ding! As soon as I clicked the link and saw that it was Akinwande v Lewis “Oreo cookie” made all the sense in the world. I’m no Larry Merchant fan and his musings are usually awful. I saw this fight live. It was a mess. There’s commercials dating from the 80s and current ones showing black kids, white kids enjoying Oreos. It was a reference understood by anyone on the planet who has seen an Oreo. The only offence given was to the nature of the fight and even then that was blamed on Akinwande. It was three people sandwiched together all fight. I dare anyone else to come up with a better visual reference. Lane was wearing a white shirt and shows minimal skin. A black ref would still have looked liked the cream in the centre of an Oreo in that fight and the reference would still make sense. This is ridiculous. I’m assuming it’s a troll thread. Shame on me for even being here.

Yeah, I mean I remember screaming WTF all fight, knowing it’s be stopped. I had more shame for myself as a boxing fan than I did for Henry. I don’t know if he ever talked about it. He fought a bunch after not that I noticed. Two strange fights Lennox has been in. I could watch it again, but I haven’t thought of it since this garbage post, and I don’t even care. I just got trolled into talking about one of the worst fights in history. This is the equivalent of being Rick Rolled. I can appreciate if that was the joke, race baited into clicking on the worst fight ever. I’m sure someone will sue for having to relive that trauma, it’s what happens now.

I remember Golota’s trainer trying to shove his mouthpiece in vs Tyson and he wouldn’t have it. Walked out of the ring solo and got pelted with a super big gulp cream soda. I was at the fight when Zab nailed Floyd in the nuts and the brawl started. At least that fight continued. I saw both Linares and Valero fight in a dusty bull ring in Cancun city ( Don King and Lou Dibella were there somehow ) things got a bit ugly, the place got surrounded by federalies in riot shields, guns and German sheppards. There’s nothing like seeing a big fight live but there’s something to be said for watching it in ur living room. Paying fight night hotel rates and tickets to see Tyson get himself out of the Holyfield rematch woulda hurt. I’m sure sum of those guys are on here. Course I have no sympathy if they thought Tyson could win.
