I agree with this article. Floyd and Manny were the 2 biggest names in boxing during the 2010s, by far. They should have fought each other in the previous decade, but it didn't happen. Irrespective of who you want to blame for the delay, they fought in 2015, and Floyd won, end of.

Floyd also "represented" boxing in the huge crossover match with Conor, which the whole world was talking about, and he won that too. Yes, I realise Conor didn't actually have a snowball in hell's chance of beating Floyd, but that's irrelevant. The fight happened, the world watched it happen, and the "face of boxing" won it.

Any “writer” who uses rankings to quantify how dangerous his opponents were already loses credibility. Unable to objectively assess whether or not an opponent is elite level, or at their very best without some manufactured ranking system is what casuals do, not credible boxing writers. He needs to stick to the twitter crowd who gets their news and facts from sound bites and 240 characters.
