Comments Thread For: Ellerbe: Gervonta Davis' Next Fight Will Be On Pay-Per-View

ATLANTA The man who made more money on pay-per-view than any fighter in boxing history is convinced that the time is right to take Gervonta Davis to that platform. Leonard Ellerbe, CEO for Mayweather Promotions, revealed following Davis' 12th-round stoppage of Yuriorkis Gamboa on Saturday night that Davis' next fight will headline a pay-per-view show. The 25-year-old Davis' only appearance on pay-per-view thus far was in a co-feature, when he knocked out Francisco Fonseca on the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor undercard in August 2017.

If Davis is sure he can make 130, which I doubt, then why not let LSC fight GRJ @ 130 first, and then fight the winner? Knowing Floyd, he's much more interested in having Tank fight a Mexican, rather than have Tank fight "the best." Even Tank vs. Berchelt would be better at this point, because Berchelt has proven himself at 130! LSC beat Flores for a vacant WBA title. Not quite the same as Berchelt, or even the winner of Farmer vs. Jo Jo Diaz!

PPV, you're having a laugh, unless he fights Lomo, none of his fights should be on PPV.

No idea what BS they promised him - but the casual US sports fan has no idea who Davis is

Idk if anyone ever told Ellerbe, but you can't polish a turd. Good luck trying to sell that s**t show, it's gonna be what is supposed to be an easy fight for him too.
