Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz Not Convinced "Slim" Joshua Can Take a Good Shot

IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz has seen recent videos of Anthony Joshua and he believes the British superstar is indeed slimmer than he was back in June. Ruiz stopped Joshua in seven rounds after four knockdowns back in June at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Less muscle on that meathead means less padding on A.J's pea-brain. Josh likes to hold and punch, especially off the left-hook that he uses to hold his opponents head in place for the uppercut ; Andy is schooled in that and will likely clobber A.J, beating him at his own game.

The weight loss is only good for endurance, Josh is going to run like a chicken.

I don't think his resistance could have been any worse than it was in that fight. I'd be very curious to see what a brain scan revealed post fight, i'm guessing he took some kind of major concussion off the first big shot Ruiz landed. I really want to see Wilder vs AJ and I think AJ is incredible for the sport overall...so fingers crossed!

The world is rooting for aj apart from the scum

Can aj become a two time unified champ whilst wilder still ducks and cowers behind Haymon

Not sure why the author had mentioned that Ruiz was brought in on short notice for the first fight and has had a 12 week camp.

People seem to forget that he fought 6 weeks or so before the AJ fight.

Also, Joshua isn’t awkward to fight, he does what he does well and clearly has weaknesses ie. chin and his inside work

Ruiz is nervous, constantly talking about what Joshua is doing/going to do instead of concentrating on what he's going to do.

Because he had short notice which is an disadvantage in boxing and he was expected to be an easy replacement win for AJ.

How much weight has AJ lost? Has he jumped on a scale or said what he's at or plans to be at?

I will be really surprised if AJ comes in over 10 pounds lighter.
He has pro people all around him so I don't think they will want him any less than my guess 6-8 pounds.
