Sultan is not that tall or big to carry 232 well, maybe you are right(I hope so). We will see tonight.

I still like Sultan to pound out a stoppage win over Austin, but it's never good to weigh 10+ pounds more than you do in your previous fight. Unless we're talking about JT.

            Sultans handspeed is pretty awesome.

His weight is baffling, not because the extra pounds themself will stop him from beating a guy like Austin, but because he has been saying again and again "I'm not even thinking about Klitschko, Ray Austin is the only guy on my mind" when this looks su****iously like a case of him overlooking his opponent.

I just hope he's in shape.

With all due respect, I couldn't disagree more. Wladimir is 6'7", so 241 or so is a natural weight for him. Lewis was 6'5", so 240-ish wasn't bad at all. Sam Peter is like 6'1" and is FAT at 250; he needs to be weighing around 220 and no more than 230 for maximum effectiveness. Sultan is like 6', correct? So 232 is fat....or, not in his best shape possible, anyway.

Bulking up is Overrated. The trimmer and tighter a fighter is, the better his performance and stamina....and the less likely to fatigue and fall into clinches or fight sluggishly down the stretch.

Afterall, these are prize fighters we're talking about...not Summo Wrestlers.

Carrying extra weight could be very, very dangerous for a fighter with Sultan's style! Clinching and slow fighting are not what he has become known for and the biggest, most apparent things extra weight does is slow you down and sap your stamina- two things crucial to his impressive tactics! I mean, look at this board, for many people Friday Night Fight's is the first time they will see Sultan fight. If you know tonight if your debute to the world I would think you come to the fight in tip-top condition. This is scary.

Agreed K-Dogg. Even Wladimir could come in lighter, at around 235 or so. He looks a bit overmuscled to me, for a boxer.

Just because a guy has a six pack does not mean he is a healthy weight for boxing. I think increased musculature and the resulting lack of stamina in the late rounds is one of the biggest problems with heavyweight boxing. These guy are just too big to perform well in the 10th-12th rounds.

I have to agree with Achiless here, muscles weight more then fat and also need oxygen(higher workrate for heart), but still, what I am saying about Sultan is that he is picking up bad training habit and even if he beats Austin(which I hope he will) this is no way to train against more serious opposition. As far as I understand Sultan is an aggressive swarming type of a fighter who needs lots of stamina to throw a variety of punches from different angles, and guys like that need always be in a tip top shape. They need every ounce of energy they can get.
