That was very perplexing to me, almost like it was a diva request by GGG they had to grant to get him to sign. It's been well documented DAZN had only approved Kovalev or GGG, and only expanded the list when Canelo sat out in September.

Even at the fight press conference Top Rank didn't care to allocate them much time (it's rather obvious guys like Stevenson are considered bigger stars by TR).

Also, how many people really love boxing? Most casuals only care for "drama shows".

One doesn't necessarily follow from the other though. The initial trial offer and lower price point was meant to incentivize early adoption and almost assuredly never intended for the long term anyway. I get the reasoning but the likes of other high profile acquisitions like Golovkin and Andrade facing the likes of Rolls/Sulecki (honestly you could argue for Ruiz-Joshua here too) as voluntaries past the pricing changeover doesn't really wash.

That really is it. This fight has, like a billion other worthy matchup, simply been overshadowed (buried more like) by other higher profile fights in the same time frame.
