Comments Thread For: Kovalev Wants Five More Fights, To Become Undisputed Champ

Sergey Kovalev admitted Wednesday that he is "old" by boxing's standards. The WBO light heavyweight champion still hopes to fight five more times before he calls it a career. If Kovalev can get by hard-hitting, undefeated mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde on Saturday night, the 36-year-old Russian veteran would want those final five fights to account for huge purses and/or other light heavyweight titles.

Kov...I like you, and you really proved me wrong with how you fought a smart patient fight in the Alvarez rematch.....but I don't see him getting past Bivol or Beterbiev at his age.

You can't hate that. Even after losing all the belts he wants to pick back up and start again at 37. Admirable!

You an idiot if you don’t think Kovalov is a top #3 LHW. He should be 1-1 with Ward. And Eleirder is no JOKE. Slow??? LMFAO you clowns don’t know SHT about Boxing.

I can see it if he sticks to not drinking and listening to his trainer. He’s rated this high by experts for a reason and he should be 1-1 with the ex #1 p4per future HOFamer Andre Ward.

Once he gets a taste of that Canelo money, this will go down to 2.
