Comments Thread For: Pascal: I Dropped Marcus Browne Three Times, I Was Winning

Barclays Center, Brooklyn - Former world champion Jean Pascal (34-6-1, 20 KOs) earn a narrow technical decision over previously unbeaten Marcus Browne (23-1, 16 KOs) to capture the WBA interim light heavyweight title after an accidental headbutt ended the fight in round eight.

Quit! I don't know what Pascal is trying to explain. Those two right hands were good as cash money. The damage done was worse than anything Browne did in any instance and all together. The third knock down sealed the deal. Hes making unneeded excuses.

It's a PBC event. Fox wants a rematch, and they need to convince Fox watchers the need to see Browne again... Marcus Browne was Haymon's go-to guy at LHW, and Pascal shut down the joint.

A little sauce for the Alvarez Devry ordeal. Too much sauce!

No, Pascal was not winning the fight. He was being comprehensively outboxed by Browne. The scorecards were close because of the 10-7 round. If Browne wasn't an idiot he would not have been knocked down by the same punch TWICE. His corner was imploring him to keep his gloves up but he didn't listen.

Props to Pascal anyway. He's been in many a war, so he gets to make a big payday soon.

Browne is an awful fighter to watch and an awful person to boot, glad it's pretty much over for him. Pascal is a guy I can always get behind, puts on a hell of a show all the time.

Yeah, not much of a controversy in this one. Browne dominated the pace and action with the exception of two thunderous rights that he had no business getting caught with. They resulted in 3 KDs and in an abbreviated fight, Pascal didn't need much more. Every single card I've seen had it 75-74....actually the Fox card incorrectly displayed Hazzard's card as 74-74.

Browne can't really complain about the headbutt because he's benefited from them in the past and he continued to hold, wrestle and rabbit punch.

                    Barely.....

"All three judges – Glenn Feldman, Julie Lederman and Steve Weisfeld – scored their fight identically, 75-74, for Pascal. Referee Gary Rosato stopped their championship match at 1:49 of the eighth round because a New York State Athletic Commission physician determined Browne shouldn’t continue due to the disgusting gash over his left eye."
