    By his own admission, Teofimo Lopez isn't quite ready for The Takeover to begin. The unbeaten lightweight contender refuses to take a victory lap even on the heels of his most significant win to date. Lopez endured a stiff test from Japan's Masayoshi Nakatani (18-1, 12KOs) in a competitive but clear 12-round decision win in their July 19 ESPN+ streamed title eliminator in Oxon Hill, Md.

    Not buying ANY of this nonsense. He and his dad (mainly Sr.) have talked their way into these big fights, now we're hearing about issues making weight, getting knocked down in sparring, family issues, etc.

    Point is, this happens to MOST fighters, but we only hear about it when they don't perform so well. In my honest opinion (not that anybody asked, lol), it seems as though he sees the Commey fight as a roadblock that could derail his road to a Lomachenko fight.

    Let's put it this way, if Luke Campbell pulled out of his fight with Loma tomorrow and Loma's team called Lopez's team tomorrow, you won't hear anything else about these "issues" in camp and among his family.

    Why are we hearing about this now??? Moreover, the whole, "trouble making weight" nonsense is a Lopez problem, not a Lomachenko problem. In other words, he's a fool to think Loma's gonna rush to fight him because HE'S having trouble making 135, not Loma.

    People are doing the same with Spence and the whole "he probably won't be able to make 147 much longer, so these other guys need to hurry up and fight him". If that's the issue, it's not their fault he's a weight bully. They can easily meet him at 154 in the near future.

        His insecurities and kinks in his "armor" are glaringly obvious. Add another insecure bully to the list. That's typical of someone over-the-top who is trying to compensate for something. Maybe he has a 2 inch ****.

        He is like this big monster in a movie that when you take a pin and pop him, he shrinks from 30 feet tall to 6 inches tall and runs off in a high voice. Fighters lose close family members, come from all kinds of heartbreaks, failed relationships, recover from car accidents, have massive earthquakes and floods in their countries, ***ing gunshot wounds even, like Tevin Farmer did, and still fight and win titles.

        Not a good look for a fighter being offered a shot at the greatest prize in all of boxing. He tried to set himself aloft and above all the competition like he is some takeover, and he only set himself up for failure and is frightened of writing a check his a$$ cant cash.

        Typical bully mentality that will have a crash and burn ending.

              His personality was pure compensation for obvious insecurities and now he realizes that his mouth wrote checks his a$$ will bounce. Countless fighters have had far worse situations going into a title fight and leaped at the opportunity. He is not of that cloth. He had the balls to call out the devil but when the devil knocks, he gone.

                  Typical NYC slick talk. Even before the Nakatani fight he was talking out both sides of his mouth, saying he could beat Lomachenko easily but at the same time saying that 135 was too hard to make and he's going to 140 soon.
