As if it would be up to Andy to decide lmao I'm sure fast Eddie would have the location stipulated in the contract

If Andy had any say, he wouldn't limit himself being ''more comfortable'' crap. All he has to do is show us he's calling the shots and tell everyone where the rematch WILL take place.

I doubt anyone will see Andy pull an A-Side move like that

Honestly I wonder if people think these things through before they comment. "He's the champ, he decides and calls the shots", if that was the case why on earth would anyone sign a rematch clause, it would be worth nothing.

Seriously, does anyone think a rematch clause doesn't specify timeframe, split/fee & who decides location?

Ruiz / his authorized agents signed the contract before the fight, time for negotiations is before signing, did they specify rematch to be in the US or they choose location, no, case closed.

Now the rematch might be in the US if Joshua wants it there, but it will be their call.
Legal costs and the potential award of damages for breach of contract is precisely the only reason they’d go ahead. The sanctioners wont strip Ruiz, AJ is not the mandatory because they have a private rematch clause in contracts, actually it’s the opposite, sanctioners could (and one suggested they might) strip Ruiz for fighting AJ instead of a mandatory.

The point I was making is it wouldn’t have surprised me if freezing AJ out of a rematch was worth them breaching the contract for, but I suspect the numbers didn’t stack up, so it’ll go ahead.

I don't consider an award of damages legals costs, legal costs is what you pay your laywer in the process of getting a result or defending an action. IMO sanctioning bodies would strip Ruiz if he didn't rematch Joshua, perhaps not for breaching his contract but for not fighting at all as Hearn would sue for an injunction to stop him fighting anyone else.

BTW I think Ruiz will fight Joshua
