Comments Thread For: Thurman To Bet On Himself Beating Pacquiao By 1st-Round KO

LAS VEGAS Keith Thurman has taken money out of the bank to make several bets on himself later this week at MGM Grand's sports book. The unbeaten WBA welterweight champion will wait, however, until the odds on his fight against Manny Pacquiao favor him some more. Thurman was a slight favorite when their fight first was announced, but Pacquiao was the favorite Wednesday at MGM Grand (-155/+135).

    Oh wowser....

I think it is bad luck to bet on self. And a KO in 1st, 2nd, or 7th round?

When he goes into fight night, I wonder how much that will drive him and allow Pac to take advantage of that.

I do get the odds are huge for those individual rounds but still... Or perhaps it is his cash out strategy?

Win or lose you can bet on Thurman being on a stretcher heading to the hospital after the fight

To be honest i think its should be illegal to bet on a fight you are a participant in, considering you can look at the odds pick the best cash out and "rig it".

Rigging only applies if the other guy isn't cooperating.

A person would only have someone else place the bet for them.
