Nashiro Shocks Martin Castillo in Japan

In yet another upset for 2006, WBA super flyweight champion Martin Castillo (30-2, 16KOs) is stopped in ten rounds by Nobuo Nashiro (8-0, 5KOs), who was taking on the champ in only his 8th professional bout, and his first fight of 2006. Apparently, Castillo suffered a bad cut somewhere in the first quarter of the fight, and the cut came from as a result of a punch. [details]

Thats a huge upset, i don't think anybody felt Castillo was going to lose, Asians are tough fighters, nobody has mentioned the rivalry with Mexicans but Asians v. Mexico has a long history between them.

I'll trade anybody fights for this fight.

...Nashiro is japanese, Japanese have a rivalry with just about nobody who isnt korean or chinese. And your comment about "asians being tough fighters" is a definate understatement, The japanese were refining their hand to hand combat skills before the spanish even arrived in "mexico" to take over. No disrespect to mexicans who are easily some of the best boxers in the world. But when it comes to fighting, in all honesty this "rivalry" you speak of is really just Pacman vs Mexico. And hes a pacific islander anyway.
