Jacobs actually got over $12 million for the fight.

Kovalev was offered likely 2.5 to $4....

Or if we go with the statement... was offered less than what he would make fighting Yarde! lol.
Your ego prevents the majority of your brainpower being used.

The guarantee for jacobs was 2.5. And he gets 12.5 with the upside included. You with me so far?

The guarantee for Kovalev is 6.5,what do you think the upside will be?

Orrrrrr, and stay with me here, the cnnt is lying to get people like you to pressure canelo into paying Kovalev more than he's worth.

Could you imagine yarde paying Kovalev more than canelo? Lol

Canelo and Oscar are just using Kovalev's name. Like: "Look, we are ready to fight a LHW champion!"

F*** you. You're not ready (now), you wanna wait and make sure Kovalev is really old and shot.

How much you think Bob would pay for Yarde to fight Zurdo? 2 mil max? And there would be no title, or an interim title, at stake, not the full title.

So Kovalev would have to convince Yarde to give up his title shot, and go from making 4 mil vs him, to only 2 mil vs Zurdo, let's say.

How do you convince someone to go from making 4 mil to 2 mil? You have to pay them the 2 mil difference, plus maybe another 500k to give up the title shot.

So if Canelo is offering Kovalev 6 mil, 2.5 mil goes to Yarde. That leaves 3.5 mil for Kovalev to fight Canelo. Whereas if Kovalev just fights Yarde, there's no step aside fee to pay, and Kovaelv gets to keep his whole purse.

So is Kovalev getting 6 mil to fight Yarde? Who knows, but is he getting over 3.5 mil? Yes. Russian billionaires are bankrolling that fight. He is getting over 3.5 mil. If Yarde is for that fight, then so is Kovalev.

So actually, Canelo's offer to Kovalev, after Kovalev pays the step aside fee to Yarde, is less than Kovalev would make vs Yarde. Duva was telling the truth, it's a joke of an offer.
I don't think we have to go that deeply into thought because first of all who tf is yarde and what makes you think he's getting 4 mil to fight Kovalev. Not even Kovalev makes 4 mil in his best fight. Didn't he fight ward on the rematch for 50k?

I'd say yarde making 500k for the shot is a very generous offer. Step aside money would be half that which would be awesome for him.

Jesus this lady duva throws out random numbers and you guys go nuts..

Yeah that's a risky fight for canelo. Kovalev is a pretty good boxer. I don't think he was bluffing though.

No way could Kovalev cut any more weight at this point.

... sure, of course... that's precisely why Canelo called him... Canelo could have called out Beterbiev or Bivol as well... but he didn't... Why?...

(,,, wait!... Bivol, even said he would go down at 168 for canelo... )

I see that some people here speculate on Kov's purse vs Yarde in Russia... It's hilarious... Those Russian mobsters there are paying in cash, in plastic bags, doe...

It’s all about percentages. Jacobs was said to receive at least $10mil vs Canelo before the fight happened. Why pay him so much more than he ever earned? It’s because two top fighters are worth more than the sum of their parts. Why doesn’t everyone take the flat rate then? It’s because u can offer a fighter more than he’s ever made but it will still end up being the smallest percentage he ever took. U can see it your way but fighters don’t, that’s why fights are so hard to make. Jacobs was lured with a front loaded DAZN deal. There’s no way Kovalev is offered 6.5mil and has a chance to ad anything substantial due to sales.
