Kovalev was lowballed. Jacobs got $10 mil to fight Canelo.

Thru his deal with DAZN Jacobs earned $10 mil to fight Canelo. Y'all don't think Kovalev is on par with Jacobs as far as popularity? Yes I know the offer is probably more than Kovalev has ever earned but the fight is worth more than what he was offered.

    Canelo Alvarez: $35,000,000
vs. Daniel Jacobs: $2,500,000 (guaranteed over $10 million via DAZN contract)

DAZN is going to have to put up higher guarantees for non-DAZN fighters. Kovalev would earn closer to $10 mil against Canelo on PPV. DAZN taking away the PPV upside which means they have to up the guarantee. Of course you can get fighters like Fielding to take the low guarantee because that figure would've never been PPV. But for these more known fighters they're going to have to break the bank.

Kovalev should be making at least 5x's against Canelo than what he made against Ward. This fight is way more valuable

I like your argument but this is a huge risk Canelo is taking and he shouldn’t have to cuadruple Sergeys highest purse to get him to take a fight where the only risk is of him getting slapped a bit and schooled. They have to be reasonable here Canelo is taking all the risk and on top of that they gotta break the bank?

Didn't Kovalev complain about lowballs in his fights with Ward? They need a proper translator for Sergey and let him know that DAZN is referring to money

it's simple Jacobs got as much as he did BECAUSE he signed a multi-fight deal with DAZN and Matchroom. Why do idiots keep leaving this FACT out. He was also in more high demand because he was a free agent with options for big money fights on the PBC side of the street. Kovalev ain't a free agent, can't and won't sign a multi-fight deal with Golden Boy or DAZN guaranteeing future fights on DAZN. yet wants to be paid the same as guys who are agreeing to fight future fights on DAZN? And there is no competition because there is nobody else on his side of the street that is paying him big bucks and oh by the way he owes a high risk mandatory that will pay him peanuts and he could very well lose.

He simply doesn't have the leverage Jacobs had with Al Haymon in his back pocket or the options Jacobs had. Jacobs used all that and cashed in and agreed to big multi-fight deal with DAZN that included him getting the Canelo fight and getting paid handsomely for that first fight on his deal. Kovalev and kathy are some phuking idiots with little leverage demanding money they can't get anywhere else for a guy at Kovalev's age who could lose his mandatory if he passes on a career payday from Canelo LMAO

If Kovalev thinks that's a low-ball then wait till Haymon or another promoter makes him an offer. Then he truly know what a low ball offer is.

We don't know what he was offered so we can't say but when you're dancing with the big star, it's expected that you should get paid. Even Robert Guerrero made millions when he fought Floyd.

Who offers this money? Golden Boy or DAZN? GB is always on some bullshyt but if it's DAZN, I think DAZN may be be attempting to stop the bleeding. They spent way too much. Esp on Canelo.

The most famous word associated with the LDBC “Lowball offer”... am sure Kovalev isn’t hurting. He would be making the highest payday of his career, against the smaller guy. He would be more concern about the catchweight restrictions than money.

is Kovalev signing with Golden Boy and signing a multi fight deal with DAZN? Because that's how Jacobs got paid as much as he did to fight Canelo because he re-signed with matchroom and signed for future fights with DAZN as part of the deal to get the Canelo fight. Same how Wilder was offered a lot of money for the Breazele fight but it was tied to him signing a 3 fight deal with DAZN on top of the Breazele fight. DAZN wasn't agreeing to pay him 20M just for the Breazele fight it was a package that includes future fights. Kovalev is negotiating a 1 fight deal and asking for same money guys are getting for signing multi-fight deals? LMAO

Al Haymon pays his own guys MORE money as the opponent fighter in PBC fights then he pays outside opponents to come in for 1 fight against his PBC guys. Why? Because you give them extra as an incentive because you have their rights to future fights. Stop comparing Jacobs who had to sign a multi fight deal with DAZN to get that money. Kovalev is not giving future fights and wants the same money? You can't go to Al Haymon and say pay me what you paid your own guy when I'm not signing with you I'm going back to my own network/promoter after the fight. He'll say ok then phuk you

I suspect this is DAZN's way of controling who Canelo can fight. Cuz they got SOME leverage lets be f#cking serious here.

DAZN will give x for Kov, but will give x + y for a guy like Jacobs or GGG who they wanna see Canelo fight & who they think has greater appeal for DAZN the product to reach more subs.
