I personally feel that Canelo is slowing down because of all he's been through since a young age, despite being 28.
One might say that GGG's 350 amateur fights + 40 professional + 37 years old might very well exceed the wear and tear of Canelo. And Canelo still hasn't managed to beat GGG convincingly. Perhaps the reason for Canelo's slowing down (which I don't see at all) might have something to do with his testing and eating less of those famous tacos of his?

How much bribe money was given to the ny commission to sanction this fight rolls was ranked 86th. This was a disgrace to the sport of boxing just like eddie hearn. That queeer should stick to billiards promotions

BTW lower g is done he'll be 38yrs old at his next fight which is too old even for heavy weights let alone middleweight. lower g is a poster boy of what not to do in your career. He will NEVER get a third fight with the goat canelo

I can tell you are 1 of these dudes that go by what you've heard, because there is absolutely no proof what so ever that smaller men age faster. That's just some BS that the HBO commentators started saying and people began running with it.

Boxing aside quite the contrary has been proven to be true scientifically speaking. Which is the bigger and taller you are the more susceptible you are to sickness and disease. Just look at the older basketball player's that are still living, many look super aged, sickly an are living with all kinds of ailments.

According to Loeffler this match-up would've taken place on August 25th at the Forum near Los Angeles. But as a 'Hail Mary' saved Canelo-GGG II. Saunders lost his opportunity to face Golovkin, who still holds the WBA, IBO and WBC titles.

"I was always upfront with them,'' explained Loeffler.

"They knew that Canelo was the priority but I also told them we wouldn't have made the offer if we thought the Canelo fight was going to get made. So we give Billy Joe Saunders credit for wanting the fight, be willing to unify. It would've been a great promotion, two undefeated champions fighting each other and if Triple G is successful against Canelo - that would be his priority with Saunders."

That's still not ducking. Golovkin and Saunders would have been a good fight, but no one in theri right mind would turn down the Canelo rematch, if they had been in Golovkins position. Much more money and the opportunity to avenge the draw verdict.
Actually that was exactly my point. GGG never ducked Saunder's he was scheduled to fight him already and have no doubt he fully intended on going ahead with that fight had Oscar not saved the fight.

I actually would've been more concerned that Saunder's would end up pulling out of that fight due to injury or testing positive or whatever.

One thing noticeable was the body work Golovkin laid on, especially in round 2. As we remember, the cat calls in the Canelo fight were 'where's the body work', but Rolls isn't Canelo, and by the second round Golovkin had already figured out there wasn't too much fire coming back and he could move in closer and do his normal thing to the body. Golovkin needs to keep more distance with Canelo because of Canelo's speed and counters, so Golovkin could fight a different fight against Rolls by getting closer - looking more like his younger self again (which was the entire purpose of the fight in the first place..and the 10m from DAZN didn't hurt either).

Maybe the only other difference from his pre-Jacobs days was a little more patience in the build-up than at times before - there were times pre-Jacobs where he got unnecessarily reckless, and at the times Rolls tagged him, he backed up and thought about it rather than double fistbump his chest and charge in like he had at times in the past.
Agree, I actually thought GGG could've finished Rolls a lot sooner If he really wanted to press the action, but it seemed like he wanted to get a few rounds in to work on some of the new things him and Banks had worked on in training like speed and defense. The more he started getting tagged by Rolls it seemed like GGG just said to himself, "OK, the hell with this" and went back to the same ole G.

Oh he's definitely no spring chicken. Idk what it is but I just see a different Canelo. Maybe his knees, not sure. But something seems slightly off.
